About the Powell Marsh State Wildlife Area

Located north of Lac du Flambeau in Vilas County, this 4,096 acre wildlife area is home to waterfowl, deer, ruffed grouse, furbearers, raptors and shorebirds, songbirds and many other wildlife species. The marsh, with its flowages and lakes, is managed through a combination of flooding, controlled burning and farming.
