Discovery Bird Walk

Time: 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Activities: Birding, Nature study, Outdoor activity, Walk
Location: Kohler-Andrae SP

Meet Master Naturalists Janet & Andy Raddatz at the Friends Pond parking lot. The walk will start at Friends Pond, then go east on Old Park Rd to the closed gate and then back to the pond while searching for birds along the way. The walk will then continue on the Ancient Shores Trail. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Bring insect repellant, sunscreen, binoculars and field guides if available. The 1.75-mile walk is best for age 8 and older; children must be accompanied by an adult. No pets please. Vehicles need a state park admission sticker.

Kohler-Andrae SP information

Kohler-Andrae State Park in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, is the home of majestic sand dunes, miles of golden beach, shimmering blue Lake Michigan water, whispering pines, an abundance of wildlife, and recreational activities for everyone. Kohler-Andrae State Park is one of the last natural preserves along the Lake Michigan shore, and is open for everyone to explore and enjoy.

Invasive Crusaders Volunteer Workdays

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Activities: Educational Programs, Plant study, Wildlife conservation
Location: Lakeshore SP

Looking for a way to spend more time outside, while contributing to a good cause? Our volunteers will assist staff with invasive species removal in a variety of the park's prairies and occasional site cleanups. Gloves and spades/tools will be provided for use, but feel free to bring your own! Please contact the park to sign up for our volunteer list and stay informed of any changes. Meet at the north entrance.

Horicon Marsh has been formally recognized as a Wetland of International Importance by the Ramsar Convention of the United Nations. This renowned marsh is now home to the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center. The Wildlife Education Program has been conducted at the marsh since the mid-1980s. This program focuses on the abundant wildlife resources of the marsh, their ecology and applied management.

Animal Feeding Day

Watch the animals in the Nature Center have lunch! Watch the box turtles munch on some salad. See the gartersnake slurp down a worm. Look at the treefrogs as the tackle a cricket or two. This program is great for all ages. Meet at the Nature Center.

Ice Age Trail Trekkers

Join us for a brisk 2.79-mile morning hike between Kettle Moraine Drive and Hwy 28. A shuttle will be available between the starting and finishing spots. Location: Meet at Ice Age Trail parking lot located off Hwy 28 west of Kettle Moraine Drive (located near Kewaskum).

Kettle Moraine SF - Northern Unit information

The Kettle Moraine Northern Unit is comprised of about 30,000 acres stretching 30 miles across Sheboygan, Fond du Lac and Washington Counties. The forest is managed for multiple use, including recreation management, sustainable forest products, water quality and soil protection, terrestrial and aquatic wildlife, native biological diversity and aesthetics.

Yoga at the Beach

Morning Nature Walk

Take a relaxed, guided walk to explore marsh flora and fauna while taking in the stunning views on the marsh. Length and difficulty will depend upon participants.  Morning nature walks will take place every Wednesday June 19-August 21, except July 3.
